RED ARROWS TUMBLE TO AGOSTO

By Chansa Kunda

Red Arrows Football Club has bowed out of the CAF Champions league in the first preliminary around after a 2-1 aggregate loss to Primeiro de Agosto.

The Zambian Champions suffered a one-nil loss in the first leg and played to one-all draw this evening.

This saw the Angolan side progress to the second round on a 2-1 aggregate.

The encounter played at the 11th November Stadium saw the home side find the back of the net through MAWIYA JIRESSE to double their advantage, while striker RICKY BANDA scored for Arrows.

And Red Arrows Coach CHISI MBEWE has described the defeat as painful.

MBEWE said the team will now focus of the defending the MTN Super league title.

Failure to pull a comeback in Luanda means the country only has one slot remaining in Continental football occupied by ZESCO United who are on by in the CAF Confederation Cup.
