PRINTING OF GEN20 FORMS STARTS

By Lucy Nampemba-Printing of GEN 20 forms for the 2021 General election has started.

The GEN20 form is a security document that is used by presiding officers to record and announce results from polling stations.

The printing is being done in DUBAI,  United Arab Emirates.

Briefing Journalists in DUBAI today, Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- Director, Electoral Operations, ROYD KATONGO said GEN20 forms will be distributed to all the 12,152 polling stations countrywide.

Mr. KATONGO also disclosed that printing of presidential and parliamentary ballot papers has progressed, while printing of ballots for Mayoral and Council Chairpersons has been completed.

He also said election materials such as posters and lists of voters per polling station will also be printed to aid voters.

Earlier ECZ Vice Chairperson EMILY SIKAZWE said the -UPND- representative RICHARD NJOLOMBA has joined stakeholders in DUBAI witnessing the printing of ballot papers.

Mr. NJOLOMBA takes over from LINDA NKONDE who has been representing the party.

The patriotic Front is represented by its Deputy National Chairperson DAVIES CHAMA.

Meanwhile, the Electoral Commission of Zambia -ECZ- has spent over 40 million Kwacha to pay Zambian companies contracted to print voter education materials.

ECZ Head of Procurement DABSON MWALE, said contrary to assertions that all printing contracts are given to foreign companies, the commission has been working with Zambian companies for years.
