President HICHILEMA calls for revision of education curriculum

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has called for the revision of the education curriculum to respond to the needs of young people and global trends.

President HICHILEMA says education institutions should not subject learners to the same teaching materials and objectives that have remained the same for many years.

The Head of State said this in a keynote address during the 11th graduationĀ  ceremony of the Chipata College of Education.

The President also attended the graduation ceremony as a guardian to one of the graduates, SHADERICK ZULU, a physically challenged learner from Mambwe District who he adopted some years ago while he was an opposition leader.

Mr. ZULU, who is blind graduated with a credit inĀ  Diploma in Primary Teaching.

And President HICHILEMA has pledged to continue supporting Mr. ZULU should he wish to further his education.

And speaking at the same event, Chipata College of Education Principal TRESFORD MUSAKANYA, thanked Government for giving the college 20-new lecturers.
