Premier League Tasked to find sponsors for Women’s Football

The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ-has tasked the Zambian Premier League to double up efforts in finding Sponsors for the Women’s and National Division one Leagues.

FAZ President ANDREW KAMANGA says once sponsors are found the leagues will become more viable and competitive.

KAMANGA was speaking during the FIFA Capacity Building workshop for Administrations held in Lusaka.

And , Zambian Premier League Chairperson CEPHAS KATONGO said women’s football has made tremendous progress which is visible with the quality of players that are emerging.

KATONGO said it is expected that all the representatives from the 18 Women’s Clubs will use the knowledge gathered during the training to improve their operations and performance.

FIFA Expert DOREEN NABWIRE  said  FIFA is highly committed to the development of women’s football through capacity building workshops and coach training.

Meanwhile,  Elite Ladies Chief Executive Officer OLIVER SHALALA thanked both FAZ and FIFA for organizing the workshop as it will give clubs much needed knowledge in accelerating  development of women’s football.
