“PREACH PEACE AHEAD OF AUGUST 12”

By Robert Mwanza-National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili has implored the Church to preach peace ahead of the August 12, polls.

Reverend Sumaili says this will ensure more Zambians take part in the elections.

She says the Church is in a good position to preach peace, love and unity as they are always on the ground interacting with the communities.

The Minister has also called for integrity, accountability and transparency in the usage of the COVID-19 empowerment funds that government has started giving to the church.

Reverend Sumaili said this when she met and addressed the clergy on various empowerment programmes that government has put in place as COVID-19 relief to the Church.

Earlier, Reverend Sumaili paid a courtesy call on Northern Province Assistant Secretary Sineva Kambenja who said the Church has not been spared from the effects of COVID-19.
