Poor officiating irks Chabby Chabala

Kabwe Warriors head coach Levy ‘Chabby’ Chabala was left fuming despite his team beating Nkwazi 2-1 at Edwin Imboela on Wednesday in a week 2 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter.

Chabala felt the referee gave Nkwazi a dubious penalty and was happy they failed to convert it. Chabala strongly feels the officiating needs to improve in the league.

“Today’s game we were almost frustrated by the referee and we thank God they did not score that penalty which was given dubiously. We need improvement in our officiating, You see the goalkeeper came out and caught the ball from outside the box when we had an opportunity to score, that’s drama and I don’t know how to explain it, I think that also deprived us to get a goal, all in all, we played well we have won under difficult circumstances because the referee was something else which is good for us,” he said.

Next for the Magnificent People’s team is a home encounter against Nkana at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium and Chabala wants a win at all cost.

” We lost at home in week one, now we have won and we have gained confidence that’s what we wanted to just win a game, We have a rivalry with Nkana but no matter what will happen we will secure a victory,” he said.

His counterpart, Dennis Makinka was left disappointed by his teams failure to apply what they learned in training during the game.

“Am so disappointed that the boys couldn’t apply what we did in training,” he said.

“We play Zanaco next, a very tough game, we just have to psych the boys, You know after losing this game, Am sure it’s difficult for them as well. As we go into the next game we forget about this one it’s gone we just need to go and work,” he added.

Eric Kabulo Ngoyi put Walya Nganga in the lead early on before a brilliant Stephen ‘Pato’ Mutama free-kick leveled matters. Dominic Chanda however restored Kabwe Warriors’ lead minutes later sealing a 2-1 win.
