Police Impound 847 bags of Mealie Meal

The Police in Mwense District have impounded 847 by 25 Kilogram bags of mealie-meal which were destined to be smuggled into the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).Mwense District Commissioner Goeffrey Chipampata confirmed the development this morning.He said the culprit involved in the matter has handed himself to the police and is currently in police custody awaiting to appear in court.Mr Chipampata also disclosed that Police has also arrested nine Congolese nationals who entered the district through Lukwesa with intent to smuggle mealie-meal.He has appealed to members of the community to be on the lookout and report any illegal activity pertaining to movement of mealie-meal.(ZANIS) Post Views: 16
