PLANE CRASH IN MULOBEZI

Four People including the pilot have survived with minor injuries a plane crash that occured in Mulobezi District of Western Province.

Police have indentified the Pilot as KRESTAH KANONGO 43 of Livingstone with three other passengers, ANDRIES DU PLESIS 54, his son STAPHAN DU PLESIS 26 and VICTOR BOSHOF 54.

Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, DANNY MWALE confirmed the incident to ZNBC News in a statement.

Mr. MWALE said the plane crashed shortly after taking off from MULOBEZI Airstrip on Sunday around 13:29 hours.

He said intial investigations revealed that the plane bearing registration number 9JRDN crashed as a result of suspected engine failure.
