Northern Province heightens surveillance against Cholera

Northern Province has heightened surveillance and vaccination against Cholera in Mpulungu, Nsama and Kaputa districts.

Northern Province Health Director ERNEST MUTALE says his office has distributed enough chemicals among them Chlorine and deployed officers to sensitise the public on Cholera preventive measures.

Northern Province has not recorded any incident of Cholera since the outbreaks in some parts of the country.

Dr. MUTALE said this in an interview with ZNBC News.

He said  there is a risk of the disease breaking out in Mpulungu, Nsama and Kaputa districts owing to the Lake Tanganyika which is shared with three other countries hence the need to heighten preventive measures.

Dr. MUTALE said the people in the Province are also responding well to vaccination messages.
