NORTHERN PROVINCE GETS 90 PERCENT INPUTS

BY HENRY SINYANGWE

Over 90 percent of inputs under the 2022-2023 FISP have been collected by farmers in the Northern province.

Provincial Agriculture Coodinator, SYLVESTER NYENDWA has told ZNBC news that 99 percent of D-Compound fertiliser has been collected while 7 percent of Urea is remaining to be collected.

Mr NYENDWA has added that 100 percent of maize seed has also been collected and that the farmers are already planting.

He has explained that Northern province was allocated over 29,000 metric tonnes of both D-Compound and Urea fertiliser, under the FISP for this farming season.

Meanwhile, Mr NYENDWA has warned farmers who have NOT yet paid their 400 Kwacha contribution for the FISP to do so, as the payment window will close by next week.
