North Minister Warns Against Shoddy Works

August 31, 2019August 31, 20198Northern Province Minister Chungu Bwalya has cautioned engineers against certifying sub-standard works on capital projects.Mr. Bwalya says sub-standard work is not only a drain on national resources but pose a risk to would be users of the facilities.He said this when he toured Mpulungu Boarding Secondary School where he was informed about poor workmanship which has negatively affected operations at the learning institution.The Provincial Minister was not pleased to learn that works such as sewer system, electrical and window fittings were not properly done.And School Headteacher Joseph Mkandawire revealed that both the main contractor and the one sub-contracted were recalled to re-do the works.Mpulungu Boarding Secondary School which was opened in 2014 is yet to be handed over to government.
