No public official will be shielded if they engage in corruption – HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says he will NOT protect any public official engaging in corrupt activities.

President HICHILEMA says Government is committed to stamping out corruption in the public procurement system.

He has since called on law enforcement agencies to do their part and ensure that the system does not open up opportunities for corruption.

This was is in a speech read for him by Justice Minister MULAMBO HAIMBE during the commemoration of the 2022 International Anti Corruption Day.

And Anti Corruption Commission -ACC- Board Chairperson MUSA MWENYE urged officers to be impartial in the process of recovering stolen assets.

In  a speech read on his behalf by ACC Board Vice Chairperson IREEN LAMBA, Mr. MWENYE also called on the public to use the integrity committees to report any form of corruption.

Meanwhile, United Nations Resident Coordinator BEATRICE MUTALI said tackling corruption is the right of every person.

And Transparency International Zambia -TIZ- President SAMPA KALUNGU commended Government for the political will to fight corruption but urged them to expedite the finalisation of the anti Corruption policy.
