No early elections – HAMASAKA

By Brian Mwale

State House has dismissed insinuations by Lumezi Member of Parliament MUNIR ZULU that President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA intends to dissolve Parliament and call for an early election.

State House Chief Communications Specialist CLAYSON HAMASAKA has described Mr. ZULU’s statement as reckless and irresponsible.

He says the statement made yesterday by the Lumezi Independent lawmaker is meant to misinform the public and propagate falsehoods.

In a statement availed to ZNBC NEWS in Lusaka, Mr. HAMASAKA said the expected decorum of a parliamentary representative dictates that they adhere to specific rules as they may be deemed out of order through parliamentary processes.

He said the law is explicit hence no one should cry persecution when facing the consequences of such irresponsible behaviour.
