Zambia Super League defending Champions, Nkana revived their chances of surviving relegation following their emphatic 4-1 bashing of fellow strugglers Napsa Stars head in a rescheduled game played at Nkana Stadium this afternoon.

Kalampa came from a goal down to thrash the Pensioners 4-1 in a highly contested affair with a fantastic second-half showing.

Youngster Jimmy Mukeya put the visitors in the lead after just 14 minutes scoring his third goal in two games.

Nkana who had started slowly began to get into the game and managed to level matters in the 37th through Duke Abuya, a contentious goal that saw a protest from the Napsa  Stars bench but referee Milton Mweemba stood his ground and replays showed that it was the right call.

In the second, Nkana came like a house on fire and took the lead just two minutes in as Diamond Chikwekwe beat the offside trap before going on a good run and going round Shaban Odhorji to score and put Nkana in the lead.

Gilroy Chimwemwe then scored a fantastic strike from outside the area to double the lead. NAPSA captain Dickson Chapa made a blunder in the last ten minutes as he lost the ball inside the box, Chimwemwe benefiting and setting up striker Alex ‘Bazo’ Ng’onga Nkana’s fourth.

Nkana held off a late Napsa Stars charge to win the match 4-1. The win takes them to 16th place with 31 points leapfrogging Lumwana Radiants.

In the early kick-off at the same venue, Collins Sikombe’s cheeky late chip was enough to hand Lusaka Dynamos maximum points as they edged relegated Kitwe United 1-0.

In Choma, Green Eagles put up a great first-half shift which saw them score three goals within the first 31 minutes to beat ten-man Indeni.

The win takes Elite to 4th place with 46 points from 30 games.

Anos Tembo scored a brace while Amity Shamende chipped in with the other goal. The win takes Aggrey Chiyangi’s side to 10th place with 40 points.
