NELSON CHABOTA BEATS MWILA FOR MR ZAMBIA

Body Builder NELSON CHABOTA is the new Mr. Zambia.

CHABOTA’s victory puts an end to SYLVESTER MWILA’s 11-year-reign as Mr. Zambia after finishing second.

In a tightly contested competition, CHABOTA overcame other in-house winners and cemented his legacy as Zambia’s number one body builder.

In other categories, MUSONDA MUTALE of Kitwe won the Junior Mr. Zambia trophy, beating MISHECK SILUNGWE and DAVID MWAPE who finished second and third respectively.

NATASHA NAMUYEMBA of Gladiator Gym won the women’s bikini category, overcoming her closest rival MARTHA NGOMA who finished second having won the category last year.

Sports Minister ELVIS NKANDU advised the body builders to become Ambassadors against Gender Based Violence by protecting women instead of engaging in violence.

NKANDU, who was represented by Deputy Director Sport MABLE NEDZIWE said Government will work tirelessly to promote all sports.

And Zambia Body Building and Fitness Federation -ZBBFF- President CORNELIUS CHANDA thanked Government for the continued support towards body building.

Others who were awarded last night are SHADRECK MWILA in the Men’s Physique category and NELSON NGOMA in the light weight category.

Kabwata Gym Manager ANDROS KUMWENDA was awarded with the Best Chairperson’s award.
