NDF Challenges its De-registration

The National Democratic Congress -NDC’s- leadership has challenged the de-registration of their party in the Lusaka High Court.NDC Secretary General Bridget Atanga has applied for Judicial Review in the Lusaka High Court against the verdict of the Registrar of Societies to deregister the party.Mrs Atanga has sued the Attorney General as respondent in the matter.Yesterday Ministry of Home Affairs Public Relations Officer, Nephas Chifuta announced the deregistration of the NDC by the Registrar of Societies.Mr. Chifuta said this was based on the High Court ruling last month after rival NDC members sought court action over the affairs of the party.And yesterday NDC Leader Chishimba Kambwili vowed that his executive would challenge the deregistration of the party in court.
