NAPSA Stars struggle with injuries…As trio start light training

Zambia Super League side, NAPSA Stars has confirmed that the trio of defender Amos Simwanza, midfielder Danny Silavwe, and winger Austin Banda has commenced light training.

Austin Banda sustained a quadriceps muscle strain during the Pensioners week-13 game against Red Arrows FC and has been out since then while Silavwe sustained Achilles tendinitis during the CAF game played against UD Songo in Mozambique.

Simwanza had a cut on his tibialis anterior muscle during the game played against UD Songo.

The Pensioners also went on to give an update on injuries suffered by five players, goalkeeper Rabson Muchelen’ganga sprained his knee during the game against Lumwana Radiants and he is still in the treatment room.

2012 AFCON winner, striker Emmanuel Mayuka is also out as he sustained a hamstring strain during the 2-2 draw against Forest Rangers last Wednesday. The player has been given 8 days of physiotherapy.

Laudit Mavugo has also joined the injured list after sustaining a hamstring strain during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Indeni FC. The player has since been given 10 days of physiotherapy.

Strikers Bornwell Mwape and Tapson Kaseba who have been out for a long time are still recovering from their injuries.

NAPSA Stars will return to action tomorrow, Wednesday, January 26th when they host Kabwe Warriors in a rescheduled week eight MTN/FAZ Super League encounter.
