NAPSA Stars lose a fifth straight game as Green Buffaloes hold Lusaka Dynamos

NAPSA Stars’ chances of surviving relegation suffered another setback after they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Lumwana Radiants while Lusaka Dynamos settled for a point thanks to a 1-1 draw with Green Buffaloes.

The Pensioners came into the match looking to end their four-match winless run while Lumwana Radiants were looking for their first win in seven games.

NAPSA Stars took the lead just three minutes into the match after Danny Silavwe got on the end of a well-timed Jimmy Mukeya pass to open the scores.

Lumwana Radiants however leveled matters 15 minutes into the second half thanks to a Dominic Chungwa header. A minute later NAPSA was reduced to ten men after Amos Simwanza was sent off for a second bookable offense.

Things moved from bad to worse for the Pensioners 12 minutes later after Dinanga put the visitors in the lead. Lumwana held on to win the match 2-1.

The win takes Lumwana Radiants to 33 points but still stuck behind NAPSA Stars and Nkana. The Pensioners have now lost 5 consecutive games and have only picked up nine points from a possible 30 in their last ten games.

In the early kick-off, Lusaka Dynamos settled for a point after failing to protect their one-nil lead to draw 1-1 with Green Buffaloes.

Emmanuel Chabula put Lusaka Dynamos in the lead with an easy finish from close range while Friday Samu scored his 15th goal of the season from the spot after Paul Banda was judged to have handled the ball in the box to rescue a point for Justin Chinama’s men.

The draw takes Lusaka Dynamos to 3rd place with 47 points six behind second-placed ZANACO.
