NALUMANGO THANKS JAPAN

Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has thanked the Japanese Government for its continued financial support to refugees and former refugees through agriculture in Maheba Local Integration area.

Mrs. NALUMANGO said through such programmes refugees from Angola, Rwanda and those from the Democratic Republic of Congo have had their lives improved.

The Vice President explained that the project has also helped improve the living standards of the Zambian people around refugee camps.

Mrs. NALUMANGO said this through Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIMBU during a grant contract signing ceremony.

And Japanese Ambassador to Zambia MIZUUCHI RYUTA said by the end of the completion of the project the former refugee community in Kalumbila District will have become robust enough to strengthen the basis of their livelihood.

Mr RYUTA said this will be through the acquired skills in modernized agriculture and marketing.

Meanwhile, the AAR Japan Program Coordinator KANEMATSU YUI is also engaged in supporting vulnerable people in Zambia with focus on the integration of former refugees, maternal and child health.
