Mwepu, Rally, Kabaso, and Evans Kangwa on target
Zambian players abroad have continued to impress at their respective clubs around the world.
Chipolopolo Boys captain Enock Mwepu was on target for Brighton but unfortunately, they lost on post-match penalties. Midfielder Rally Bwalya was on target for Simba in their slender 1-0 win.
Striker Evans Kangwa scored for Arsenal Tula in the Russian cup and so did former Chipolopolo skipper Kabaso Chongo for TP Mazembe.
In DR Congo, Kabaso Chongo scored the second goal as TP Mazembe thrashed CS Don Bosco 3-0.
In Denmark, Lubambo Musonda played 77 minutes in AC Horsens 3-1 loss to Vejle to end their DBU Pokalen journey.
In England, The Computer, Enock Mwepu came off the bench to score for Brighton and Hove Albion in a Carabao Cup defeat to Leceister City.
The match ended 2-2 regulation time. Despite netting an equalizer, the 22-year-old midfielder missed from the spot in the post-match penalties.
Mwepu’s compatriot Patson Daka put in q good full shift and scored from the spot to earn the foxes a 4-2 win on post-match penalties to advance to the quarter-finals.
In Egypt, Justin Shonga played the first 45 minutes for Ismaily SC in their opening match of the 2021/2022 Egyptian Premier League encounter against 41-time Champions, Al Ahly SC at the Borg El Arab Stadium.
South African forward Percy Tau scored a brace as Ahly eased past Ismaily 4-0.
In Russia, Evans Kangwa scored for Arsenal Tula in open play, as they beat Veles 4-3 on post-match penalties after a 1-1 draw in the Russian Cup.
Klings Kangwa came from the bench and converted a spot-kick.
In South Africa, Augustine Diego Mulenga played 45 minutes for Amazulu who succumbed to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Sekhukhune in a DSTV Premiership.
Toaster Nsabata kept his third successive clean sheet.
Elsewhere, 2012 AFCON winner Nathan Sinkala put in a full shift for Stellenbosch in their 1-0 win over Marumo Gallants.
In Scotland, Fashion Sakala Jnr came off the bench to earn a penalty for FC Rangers which earned them a 2-2 draw against Aberdeen.
In the 80-minute mark, the Rangers were awarded a penalty after David Bates pulled back sub-Fashion Jr in the box. Up-stepped James Tavernier to take – and his penalty was outstanding, finding the inside of the side-netting despite Lewis going the right way for 2-2.
In Tanzania, Rally Bwalya scored a late penalty to guide Simba to a 1-0 win over Polisi Tanzania in an NBC Premier League encounter played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Wednesday.
The loss is the first of the season for Polisi and meant Simba returned to winning ways after their disappointing CAF Champions League exit.
