Mwepu heading to Spain for trials

Zambian striker Francisco Mwepu is set to attend trials at Spanish top flight side after his Austrian stint, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.

La Liga Santander side Cádiz Club de Fútbol, S.A.D., known simply as Cádiz, has invited the former Zambia Under-20 star for 2 weeks trials.

Mwepu has been in the country keeping fit with his former teams Kafue Celtic and Zambian Champions Red Arrows.

The 22 year old spent the last two seasons at Austrian Bundesliga side, SK Puntigamer Sturm Graz.

The Kafue Celtic product penned a two-year contract with Sturm Graz with an option for an extension for another year but could not break into the team and suffered a serious knee injury last October.

Mwepu was an influential member of the Zambia Under-20 side between December 2017 and December 2019 helping the team to a COSAFA U-20 title in 2019 as the teams top goalscorer.

He is the young brother to Chipolopolo captain and England based midfielder Enock Mwepu.
