Mwepu could be back in action this weekend

Zambia national team midfielder Enock Mwepu is nearing a return to the pitch after a frustrating two months with injury.

Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter says the computer who has had a frustrating time with injuries and illness will train tomorrow and he hopes he will finish the season strong.

Mwepu had to be replaced by Alexis Mac Allister midway through the half in Brighton’s 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in a third-round Emirates FA Cup tie in January.

“Enock’s had a really frustrating time, illness and injury has set him back,” Potter said in a press conference on Thursday.

“He’ll train tomorrow. It’s fantastic to have him nearly back and hopefully he’ll finish the season strong.”

The former NAPSA Stars and Redbull Salzburg man has missed the Seagulls last eight matches due to the thigh injury.

Mwepu is expected to make the match day squad on Saturday as the Seagulls look to bring an end to a run of three consecutive defeats when they head to Newcastle United.
