MVUNGA CHALLENGES BANKS ON INNOVATION

By Mary Kachepa- Bank of Zambia Governor Christopher Mvunga has urged commercial banks to continue being innovative and providing customers with global banking products that meet evolving financial needs.

Mr. Mvunga says this is important especially amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Central Bank Chief was speaking during the official opening of the ABSA Bank Zambia PLC East Park Mall Branch in Lusaka today.

He commended ABSA Bank for its active involvement in driving the financial literacy agenda and support to small and medium enterprises and vulnerable groups in society.

Mr. Mvunga said the Central Bank is hopeful that ABSA Group Limited will remain a committed partner in driving financial sector development in Zambia.

And ABSA Bank Zambia PLC Managing Director Mizinga Melu said the Bank’s rebranding has facilitated for technological upgrading on all its platforms.
