Mutondo thrash Mansa Wanderers as Aguila Stars, Riflemen, Luena Buffaloes record wins

Copperbelt Province Division Champions, Mutondo Stars have started their quest for National Division One promotion on a fantastic note following a huge win over Mansa Wanderers.

Mutundo put six past the Luapula Province representatives in their opening game of the playoffs played on Thursday afternoon at Crested Crane Academy grounds.

A brace from Lucky Sikanyika and a goal each from Chisha Kampamba, Robert Zulu, Nyendwa Nyendwa, and Titus Chansa were enough for the Kitwe-based outfit.

The win takes the Zeddy Saileti tutored side to the summit of group B.

Earlier in the day, Central Province Champions, Aguila Stars beat Real Nakonde 2-0 thanks to a Keke Sipuka brace.

In Group A, Northern Province Champions, Mpulungu Harbour suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Lusaka Provincial Division One winners Riflemen.

The win takes Riflemen who are the favorites top of group A.

Luena Buffaloes edged Eastern Province Champions, Katete Rangers in a five goal thriller to go second on the table.

North Western Province representatives Solwezi United and Blue Arrows of Southern Province where on bye and will be in action tomorrow.

The top two teams from each group after the round-robin matches being played at Margaret Mwanakatwe and Crested Crane Academy grounds will qualify to the National Division One.
