Musole elated to make Olympics bound final squad

Zambia Women’s National Team Goalkeeper Ngambo Petronella Musole has expressed happiness with making it to the final squad expected to travel for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in Japan.

Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew, the ZESCO Ndola Girls goal minder said it is a dream come true in her football career.

“I am very excited about making it in the final team for the Olympics, it is a dream come true and I thank God for what he has been doing to me and am optimistic this opportunity will change my life,” Musole said.

Musole who has been a consistent figure in the national team squad since her first call up in 2014 at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Costa Rica made her debut for the senior women’s team last year when the Copper Queens edged Chile 2-1 in an International Friendly Match played in Santiago where she was fantastic putting up excellent saves denying La Roja Femenina clear cut chances and she feels that helped in boosting her confidence going forward and it will help her to absorb the pressure.

“I am always training hard and my main aim is to be given another chance to play and I will definitely use it to the best of my ability,” She said.

The former Choma Warriors and Tamanga Girls goalkeeper went on to feature for the Copper Queens in their 3-1 loss against South Africa in April this year in another friendly match.

“I thank God for what he did to me in the game against Chile, because that match helped me to start believing in myself even more and am hoping for greater performances,” Musole told the ZamFoot Crew.

“I had an amazing experience in both games we played against Chile and South Africa because they helped me to have the actual feel of International games and also to account myself very well when given an assignment as well as go see the importance of following the coaches instructions,” she concluded.
