MUNDUBILE’S ELECTION CHALLENGED AGAIN

By Hannock Kasama

UPND losing MPOROKOSO Parliamentary candidate JOHN SAMPA has appealed against the High Court’s declaration that BRIAN MUNDUBILE of the Patriotic -PF was duly elected.

Mr. SAMPA has filed six grounds of appeal against the High Court’s position.

Among the six grounds Mr. SAMPA has contended that the lower court erred in law having held that the discharge of a firearm aimed at him during the August 12, 2021 General Election had no bearing on the voting process and outcome of the polls.

Mr. SAMPA has accused Mr. WILBROAD MUSONDA who was allegedly Mr. MUNDUBILE’s Election Agent as the trigger puller on the material day.

He has further contended that the judge in the lower court misdirected himself by allegedly having only considered the flaws of his witnesses’ testimony but ignored to consider the same among the respondent’s witnesses.

On November 22, 2021 Lusaka High Court Judge CHARLES ZULU sitting in KASAMA upheld the election of Mr. MUNDUBILE as MPOROKOSO Member of Parliament.
