Mpika district to get seven clinics

(ZNBC News)-

Government says it will build modern maternity wings at all the seven clinics in Mpika District of Muchinga Province which have been running without them for many years.

Mpika Town Council Secretary SAMUEL MUSENGE says the maternity wings will be built using part of the K28.3 million Constituency Development Fund -CDF- Allocation for the district.

Mr. MUSENGE says all the ward development committees in Mpika and health authorities have already identified the clinics which will have new maternity wings this year.

He told ZNBC that the construction of the seven maternity wings is in response to President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s directive to all Councils to prioritize the construction of facilities to prevent maternal deaths.

The seven Clinics where the Maternity Wings will be built are Kazembe, Kalimba Mufubushi, Kaluba, Kamwanya, TAZARA and Chikwanda clinics.
