Moses Phiri on target…Action for Lubambo Lameck Banda and Fashion Sakala

A number of Zambian players were in action over the weekend as club football made a return after the FIFA international window. 

Former Zanaco forward Moses Phiri has continued with his fine form in front of goal as he scored a goal in Simba’s win. 

Lubambo Musonda, Emmanuel Banda and Frankie Chisenga Musonda were on the end of defeats with their teams.

In Canada, Former Zambia U-20 winger Lifumpa Mwandwe played the last 45 minutes for HFX Wanderers who suffered a 2-1 loss to Atl. Ottawa. 

In Denmark, Lubambo Musonda put in a full shift for AC Horsens who succumbed to a 2-1 loss away to Silkeborg. 

Elsewhere, Edward Chilufya came on to play the last eight minutes in FC Midtjylland’s 1-1 draw with Viborg 

Emmanuel Banda came on at the start of the second half for Djurgadens IF who suffered a huge 3-0 loss away to Degerfors. 

In England, Chipolopolo skipper Enock Mwepu missed Brighton and Hove Albion’s 3-3 draw with Liverpool due to illness. 

Mwepu also missed the Chipolopolo Boys international friendly match against Mali away in Bamako. 

Striker Patson Daka is expected to be in action as Leicester City host Nottingham Forest at King Power Stadium. 

In League 2- Chanka Zimba was an unused substitute for Newport County FC in their 2-1 win over Leyton Orient. 

In Italy, Lameck Banda put in a full shift for UC Lecce who played to a 1-1 draw with Cremonese 

In Russia, Evans Kangwa missed Arsenal Tula’s 2-1 win over Rubin Kazan due to injury. He suffered an injury on duty with the Chipolopolo Boys. 

In Scotland, Frankie Chisenga Musonda put in a full shift as AYR slipped to a 1-0 loss to Inverness. 

Elsewhere Striker Fashion Sakala played the last eleven minutes of FC Rangers 4-0 win over Hearts. 

Antonio Colak scored a brace while Alfredo Moleros and Ryan Kent chipped in with a goal each. 

In Serbia, Midfielder Klings Kangwa put in a 66 minute shift for Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) who cruised to a 4-0 win over Mladost GAT. 

In South Africa, Rally Bwalya was a second half substitute for AmaZulu who played to a 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs. 

In Spain, Belgian born Charly Musonda Jr came off the bench to play the last 22 minutes in Levante’s 3-1 defeat to Andorra. 

In Tanzania, Moses Phiri was on target for Simba SC who cruised to a 3-0 win over Dodoma Jiji at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium. 

Midfielder Clatous Chota Chama put in a fantastic shift and it was his cross that a Dodoma defender put in his own net for the opener. 

In The USA, Defender Aime Mabika put in a full shift for Inter Miami who recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Toronto FC. 

Former Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain scored the only goal of the game.
