Moses Mawere Christmas tournament reaches semifinal stage

The Moses Mawere Christmas tournament has reached the climax with so many exciting games and goals. The drama and entertainment leaving fans with fond memories.
The one hundred thirty thousand kwacha tournament has today the 26th of December reached the semi-final stage for all categories with one fixture of the senior men category quarter-final set to be played today to complete the semi-finals pairing.
Three teams have so far qualified for the semis. Tournament favorite Zesco Chipata FC have defied all odds and eliminated the other two favorites who were Chipata City Council and Panza FC and they’re in pole position to win this tournament only if they will get past Police Bullets FC who is police sponsored outfit that has emerged as tournament surprise package but as things stand, Zesco Chipata looks likely to reach the finals as they are a coordinated squad with so many quality in their team.
Prison Leopards Chipata is another side that is likely to get into the finals, they boast of a solid defense and experience. The tournament started on 16th December and is scheduled to end tomorrow the 27th December 2020.
Teams were not put in groups, instead, they were paired on a knockout basis. The teams played full 90 minutes with the winner of each match progressing to the next stage.
This was done to reduce the cost of the tournament and time because it is a tournament which had many teams from Senior men category involving FAZ Division I, II, III teams, under 15 categories for amateur teams and women category for all women teams.
