MORE DEFECTIONS ROCK CHIKANKATA UPND

Two hundred and fifteen UPND members in Chikombola ward of Chikankata district – Southern province have defected to the ruling Patriotic Front.

This was during the ongoing party mobilisation and recruitment drive being spearheaded by Chikankata district PF Chairlady, Kavumbu Hakachima.

And Ms. Hakachima said UPND members in the district are resigning to join the ruling party because of the good leadership of President Edgar Lungu.

She thanked the defectors for ditching the UPND.

During the same meeting, Ms. Hakachima donated seed worth 15 Thousand Kwacha to various youth groups involved in gardening in Chikombola and Malabo wards.

She said youths should take agriculture seriously in order to improve their living standards.

Speaking during the same meeting, former Chikombola UPND Ward Chairperson Mark Hamoonga said he and the other defectors have decided the join the PF because they have seen that the party will win the forthcoming general election.

Mr. Hamoonga said President Lungu has managed to develop Zambia since he assumed office in 2015.
