MONGU LODGES TOLD TO BE REASONABLE DURING KUOMBOKA

By Justine Akakulubelwa

The Livingstone District Kuomboka Fundraising Committee has appealed to the hospitality industry in Mongu district to be reasonable with rates during the period of the Kuomboka Ceremony.

Organizing Committee Vice Chairperson, SIKOBELA SIKOBELA, says much as the Kuomboka Ceremony provides a business opportunity, there is a need to ensure that services are not exploitative to the visitors.

And Mr. SIKOBELA says fundraising activities, in Livingstone, for the Kuomboka Ceremony are going on well.

He told ZNBC News that the response from the public, on fundraising events that have so far been held, such as the dinner dance and walk, have been good.

Mr. SIKOBELA is also appealing to the Ministry of Tourism to consider holding cultural road shows in order to boost tourism.

He says besides promoting domestic tourism, cultural road shows can be used to unite the country and promote the spirit of One Zambia, One Nation.
