MOH TIGHT-LIPPED ON NDEKE HOUSE PROBE

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Administration GEORGE MAGWENDE assured the public that they will be informed of the outcome of the joint investigative team which sealed the Ndeke House..

Dr. MAGWENDE said the officers were professional and the ministry officials complied accordingly.

This comes in the backdrop of the arrest of former Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary -Technical services, KENNEDY MALAMA, for alleged corrupt practices, on Monday this week.

The ACC also arrested and charged the former Head of Procurement and Supplies Unit at the Ministry of Health, WILSON LUNGU.

Earlier in the day a joint team of investigators today sealed off the Ministry of Health Headquarters in Lusaka, in a start of investigations into corruption allegations.

Armed Police cordoned off the offices at Ndeke House, turning away most of the staff at the Ministry, only allowing senior officers.

A ZNBC News Crew found police officers keeping vigil.

The investigations are being undertaken by a joint team, comprising officers from the Drug Enforcement Commission -DEC-, Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC and Police.

And Police Spokesperson, RAE HAMOONGA confirmed the start of the investigations, however saying a comprehensive statement would be issued in due course.
