United Party for National Development -UPND-Kabwata Member of Parliament LEVY MKANDAWIRE who died on November 18, 2021, has been put to rest today at Lusaka’s Leopards Hill Memorial Park.

And, President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has reiterated his call for thorough investigations by law enforcement agencies.

President HICHILEMA says law enforcers should investigate the death of Mr. MKANDAWIRE who was hit outside his house.

The head of state says he believes law enforcement agencies do not need political interference to do their job because the circumstances in which Mr. MKANDAWIRE died are rare.

And the President said Mr. MKANDAWIRE’s death is a loss to his family, the party and the nation.

Mr. MKANDAWIRE’s family representative MATTHEW HARA reiterated the President’s call for a thorough investigation saying many reports about the late MPs alleged death cannot just be a coincidence.

Speaking earlier during a requiem mass at Mary Immaculate Parish, Parish Priest SYDNEY MUSONDA urged parishioners to introspect on their lives because NO one knows when they will die.

Fr. MUSONDA also urged Mr. MKANDAWIRE’s family to find comfort in GOD even in the midst of pain and difficulty while pledging his continued prayers for them.

And widow CHARITY in a tribute by NKONDE MUMBA described her husband as a caring man who was determined in pursuing his dreams.

She expressed sadness that the children and herself will never be able to engage him and dine with him.

And ACKIM CHIRWA who spoke on behalf of the parents and sisters paid tribute to Mr. MKANDAWIRE for his caring nature.

He said the deceased managed to take care of his family members and invested in their goals with his demise creating a huge gap.

Mr. MKANDAWIRE leaves behind a widow, four biological and three adopted children.
