Milling Plant Under Construction in Mpika

Construction works for a Presidential Initiative Milling Plant have started in Mpika District.Defence Minister Davies Chama disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on Mpika District Commissioner Moses Katebe in Mpika.Mr. Chama who is on a familiarisation tour of the Defence operations in Muchinga and Northern Provinces said that works on the Presidential Initiative Milling Plant have Started.He said the plant will be able to produce 240 metric tons of mealie meal per month.The Defence Minister further said the milling plant which is under the Defence force is being put up in Mpika because of its central location.Mr. Chama said once complete, it will be able to supply mealie meal to Kasama and other surrounding areas.Meanwhile, Mr. Katebe is thankful to President Lungu for choosing to put up a Milling Plant in Mpika.He said the milling plant will help in providing jobs to local people especially youths.
