MILENGE HOSPITAL DEVELOPS CRACKS

Milenge District Hospital in Luapula has developed cracks.

Health Minister Sylvia MASEBO has tasked the Luapula provincial health authority to send engineers to assess the state of Milenge District Hospital.

Ms MASEBO says the engineers also need to assess the cost to complete the construction of the hospital, which was being built in phases.

She was speaking after touring the hospital.

The Minister said government will equip Milenge District Hospital with an X-ray machine.

Meanwhile, Ms MASEBO has appealed to parents and guardians to have their children vaccinated against Covid-19 before schools re-open.

She said in the fourth wave a number of children have gotten infected with Covid-19.

The Minister said children, who are 12 years and above are eligible for vaccination against the Coronavirus.

Ms MASEBO thanked the church for encouraging their members to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

She said this during her sensitisation of congregants at Saint Stephen UCZ in Samfya District.

And Reverend Lazarus MOYO said there has been vaccine hesitancy because of fear.

Reverend MOYO said with the Minister’s sensitization of the congregation, he is optimistic that more people will get vaccinated.
