“MASS VACCINATION CAN PREVENT THIRD WAVE”

Special Assistant to the President and Presidential Spokesperson ANTHONY BWALYA says mass vaccinations are critical to prevent any recurrence of the effects of the Covid-19 third wave with the anticipated fourth wave.

Mr. BWALYA says President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s administration is working on rebuilding the economy which cannot be done if critical social and economic sectors are closed.

He says this is why measures are being implemented now to prevent any spike in COVID-19 cases.

Mr. BWALYA says people must be sensitized on the importance of voluntary Covid-19 vaccinations.

He was speaking when he featured on a special interview on ZNBC TV1 in Lusaka last evening.

Mr. BWALYA further said in order for government to start delivering on health care, social protection and good jobs, it is important that Zambians start exercising a level of responsibility in the management of public resources.

He said the Auditor General’s Report for the financial year ended 31st December 2020 has highlighted alarming figures in wasteful expenditure.

And Special Advisor to the President on COVID-19 ROMA CHILENGI said the strategies and measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic such as vaccination are in place.
