MASEBO WARNS MANAGEMENT IN HEALTH FACILITIES

By Arnold Tutu:

Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO has warned of stern action against management in health facilities who do not keep their surroundings clean.

Ms. MASEBO says there is no excuse for health facilities to have dirty surroundings as they have workers assigned to ensure the environment is kept clean.

She has directed provincial and district directors of health to improve the supervision of their staff to ensure a situation that happened at Matero level One Hospital is not repeated.

Ms. MASEBO said this in Lusaka today following images posted on social media by Matero Member of Parliament MILES SAMPA showing the dirty toilets at the Hospital.

The ministry has since made changes to the management at the health facility.

Meanwhile, Ms. MASEBO said the country has continued to record low COVID-19 cases but urged the public against dropping the guard.

Ms. MASEBO said non compliance among Zambians can lead to an escalation in numbers of Covid cases.

She said the country faces a triple threat from Covid, Cholera and Polio.

The Minister has urged citizens to exercise maximum hygiene and take the vaccination messages seriously.
