Mabika, Frankie Musonda are a GIFT to us says Asanovic

Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic praised the impact of defensive duo Aime Mabika and Frankie Musonda.

The two new boys were roped in after calls from the Chipolopolo faithful to give chance to players abroad with Zambian descent.

Asanovic had first handy experience after working with duo from close quarters during the time in Turkey.

He gave the pair their debuts in the 3-1 win over Congo on Friday.

“The two boys were happy to be with us. It’s so important how the new boys feel here,” he said.

While Mabika was ruled out of the 2-1 defeat to Benin on Sunday due to a harmstring injury, Musonda lasted over 70 minutes as he marshaled the defence.

“Mabika is this guy who is very strong, who knows how to play football. Frankie is also strong in the air.

“Two [more] guys with more quality is a gift for us. I am so happy with what I saw from the two guys,” Asanovic said

Mabika plays in the American Major Soccer League with Inter Miami which is owned by David Beckham while Musonda features for Raith Rovers in Scotland.
