LUSAMBO CAUTIONS PUBLIC OVER COVID-19

Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo has cautioned the public to treat the new Covid-19 variant as a public emergency requiring everyone’s cooperation.

Mr. Lusambo says the virus has escalated to alarming proportions resulting in a rise in the number of brought in dead cases at various medical facilities.

He says people need to fully comply with the guidelines or risk succumbing to the killer virus.

Mr. Lusambo says government will continue to play its role but emphasized that families and individuals should remain alert and avoid unnecessary movements and gatherings which he said are catalysts for the spread of the virus.

He has told ZNBC News that President Edgar Lungu has provided the necessary leadership but requires the cooperation of everyone.

Mr. Lusambo said Covid-19 cannot be contained without the concerted efforts of all stakeholders in communities.

He has since urged the multi sectoral Covid-19 team to remain vigilant in enforcing the regulations and guidelines.

The Minister said making up, social distancing and sanitizing need to be observed at all times.
