Lusaka hospitals receive JICA oxygen concentrators

Zanis-The Japanese International Corporation Agency -JICA- has donated 25 oxygen concentrators from JICA for the 5 general hospitals in Lusaka.

JICA Chief Representative, TOKUHASHI KAZUHIKO disclosed that the oxygen concentrators were bought at a cost of over 8-hundred and 75-thousand kwacha.

Mr. KAZUHIKO says the equipment is meant to help in the management of severe COVID-19 patients.

He also says the project of upgrading the 5 general hospitals in Lusaka, which started in May this year, is being funded through the grant aid from the people of Japan.

And receiving the donation Lusaka Province Minister, SHEAL MULYATA commended JICA for the support to hospitals in the region.

ZANIS reports that Ms MULYATA noted that JICA has continued to support Lusaka province through upgrading of Chilenje, Matero, Kanyama, Chawama, and Chipata level one hospitals to general hospitals.
