Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA) twice fought back from being down to draw with the new kids on the block Lusaka Dynamos Ladies 3-3 in a friendly match played at the Bauleni Sports Complex on Thursday.

The Elite Ladies started strong and before long led through Amira Njobvu in the 12th minute from a long-range shot that ricocheted from under the bar into the net. Four minutes later Mubanga Cindy hit the crossbar and Natasha Mushiko pounced on the rebound via a half volley in the 16th minute. Amira scored a third but the referee adjudged it not to have crossed the line much to the chagrin of the LD technical bench.

BUSA then fought back to score a freekick in the 26th minute through Regina Chanda who deftly lifted it over the lanky national Under-17 goalie Chitete Munsaka in the LD goal.

Minutes later, BUSA equalized when Salome Phiri scored from a tight angle and the two teams went into the break Even-Stevens.

In the second half, LD brought in a completely new team but struggled to breakdown the organized BUSA with Esther ‘Gelo’ Banda fresh from a National team outing commanding the midfield.

After a lackluster 45 minutes, LD scored in the 6th minute of injury time through Thelma Munkombwe but lack of concentration kicked in as they conceded a freekick which was converted by Gloria ‘ Super Gaucho’ Maweta Chilenga in the 8th minute of injury time to end the match 3-3.

The two teams break off for Christmas with Lusaka Dynamos expected to have another friendly match on Thursday next week with National Assembly, Green Buffaloes, or Red Arrows pending confirmation.

Elite Ladies tutored by former Copper Queens boss Enala Simbeye Phiri are preparing for the FAZ Women’s National League while the coach Kaluba Kangwa drilled BUSA is shaping up for the Lusaka FAZ Women’s League.
