Lungu knows plight of vulnerable,says Ndola Mp

Frank Ching’ambu-Ndola Central Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Mulenga has distributed relief mealie meal under the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unity ( DMMU) to the residents of Kanyala in Kanini ward.And Mr. Mulenga says government is aware of the challenges which many vulnerable households are faced with due to the negative effects of COVID 19 on the economy.Mr. Mulenga who is also minister of youth, sport and child development said President Edgar Lungu is aware of the prevailing situation in many vulnerable households and thought it wise that people be empowered with mealie meal to cushion their challenges.Mr. Mulenga also sensitised the residents on the measures prescribed by government to curb further spread of the Coronavirus.He urged the people to observe the social distancing, and to maintain highest levels of hygiene standards in their homes.Albertina Mpange one of the residents said the gesture by the MP will go a long way in mitigating the hunger situation in many households who at the moment cannot even afford to buy the commodity in smaller quantities commonly known as “Pamela”.Ms. Mpange said the donation was timely as many families were faced with serious food shortages in their homes during this period when many companies are downsizing their workforce.
