LUMANGWE FALLS GETS FACELIFT

The Ministry of Tourism and Arts has released more than 5-million Kwacha to Mporokoso district council to improve the road network and infrastructure at Lumangwe falls.

Tourism and Arts Minister Ronald Chitotela says the money was released under the Tourism Development Fund.

Mr. Chitotela says the funds will be used to put up modern infrastructure such as an ablution block, ticketing office, shelter, car park and chalets at Lumangwe heritage site.

He has expressed happiness that works on the road leading to the falls have started.

Mr. Chitotela was speaking in an interview with ZNBC News in Kawambwa.

And National Heritage Conservation Commission Northern Regional Director Kagosi Mwamulowe said improving the road network leading to Lumangwe Falls will attract more tourists.

Mr. Mwamulowe said Lumangwe Falls has potential to become a big tourist attraction once the road is improved and supporting infrastructure constructed.
