Long queues as people seek Health jobs

ZANIS-A number of unemployed health personnel in Kasama have started dropping their application letters at the Kasama District Health Office with the view to gain employment in the civil service

A check by ZANIS at the District Health Office in Kasama found long queues of unemployed health personnel waiting for their turn to submit their applications.

Kasama District Commissioner ELIZABETH GOMA who visited the offices to check on the ongoing exercise has assured Kasama residents that the exercise will be conducted in a transparent manner.

Mrs. GOMA said the recruitment is open to all eligible Zambians with the right qualifications adding there will be no favoritism in the recruitment process.

And Kasama District Health Director FREDRICK MWILA stated that recruitment of health personnel will help government to provide to health services to the people.

Dr. MWILA has encouraged the applicants who will be employed to be ready to serve in any part of the district where their services are needed.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Kalinda an applicant has commended governments move to recruit officers from their respective districts as successful applicants will not have to relocate to other places which disadvantages both government and the employees.

Government is set to recruit 11,276 health personnel across the country this year.
