In a game dimmed ‘The match of Titans’, two teams that have dominated the Zambia super league since the turn of the century came face to face at the sunset Stadium in Lusaka yesterday.

The game started like a house on fire with Zesco united almost going ahead in the first minute only for veteran striker Winstone Kalengo to place his shot wide. Sensational Zanaco quickly gained momentum and scored with their first real attack in the third minute through their big striker Chitiya Mususu, Seven minutes later captain of the day Rodger Kola headed past the Zesco goalkeeper to extend his teams lead.

Rodger Kola grabbed his brace and Zanacos’ third in the twentieth minute to add more salt on Zesco united’s wounds.

Speaking to the ZamFoot Crew after the match, Sensational Zanaco’s new coach Chris Kaunda expressed happiness with his players’ commitment and dedication.

“From the onset, we told the boys to be more focused and respect Zesco, They are a big team, Big coach Lwandamina is my big brother, I call him Uncle George. I respect him a lot and if you saw today I was not standing and immediately I saw him standing I knew we were going to control the game,” he said.

“We are learning a lot from the boys and hopefully one day they will play the football I like, passing the ball, players enjoying, they should enjoy it’s their job. They tried it today (yesterday) especially in the second half and am sure we are getting there.”

“Beating Zesco is a plus for the players, It shows how much disciplined they are and how much work the previous coaches did, It’s too early for me I can’t come and just stamp things am doing slowly,” he added.

The 3-0 defeat means Zesco United are still searching for their first win in 2020 and have now gone 360 minutes without hitting the back of the net.
