Livingstone to host UNWTO Summit

Zambia will this year host the United Nations World Tourism Organisation-UNWTO Summit in Livingstone.

The Summit will focus on branding Africa.

And, Zambia Tourism Agency -ZTA Chief Executive Officer MATONGO MATAMWANDI is confident that Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation-ZNBC – will help the Agency achieve its goals in the tourism sector.

Mr MATAMWANDI says the Agency aims to reach One billion people annually to increase awareness about the country’s tourism.

He also indicated that the Agency is planning to launch local tourism campaigns on all ZNBC Platforms.

Mr MATAMWANDI was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on ZNBC Director General BERRY LWANDO at ZNBC today.

And, Mr LWANDO has welcomed the ZTA proposal to re-launch the local tourism campaign across all ZNBC platforms.

Mr LWANDO has assured ZTA of a successful partnership with the Corporation.

He urged the Agency to ensure the campaign is also run in local languages to appeal to the local people.
