LITUNGA TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF REIGN

(ZANIS) The Barotse Royal Establishment has set November 13 to 17, 2020 to celebrate 20 years since the coronation of the Litunga Lubosi Imwiko.

The event, which was put off in October, due to COVID-19, will take place at the Litunga’s Lealui summer Palace.

Speaking in Limulunga, the Ngambela, Manyando Mukela has said the ceremony is special, because the Litunga will be celebrating his 20 years of reign.

He has also announced that the Kuta has suspended its usual routine activities to focus on the ceremony preparations.

The ceremony commonly referred to as Choliso in the Lozi language, is characterised by traditional songs and dances.

Litunga Lubosi Imwiko was crowned as king of Barotseland on the October 13, 2000.
