Liomba Commissions Market Shelter

February 12, 2020February 12, 202043By Justine Akakulubelwa-Southern Province Permanent Secretary Mwangala Liomba, has commissioned two market shelters, a modern ablution block and a truck yard built in Zimba District with financial support from Germany.Mr. Liomba has also commissioned a new drainage system and a rehabilitated waterworks at the Zimba Market, all at a total cost of more than four-point-five-million Kwacha.He says the construction of the facilities in the district demonstrates the determination of the government to foster development in all the parts of Zambia.Mr. Liomba said in Zimba yesterday at the commissioning ceremony of the infrastructure that similar projects are being implemented in partnership with the KWF Development Bank of Germany in eleven districts of the Southern Province.He thanked the Zimba District Council Administration for its prudent use of the funds and says other districts in the province should do the same.And Zimba District Council Chairperson Grave Muleya, thanked the KWF Development Bank of Germany for funding the projects, which he says will alleviate the challenges traders and truck drivers have been facing in the town.Speaking at the same event, Chief Sipatunyana urged the people of Zimba to take good care of the facilities.Chief Sipatunyana encouraged traders who have been conducting businesses on the streets to desist from doing so because Zimba Town has enough trading space following the construction of the two shelters at the market.
