LEMEKANI’S BODY ARRIVES

The body of LEMEKANI NYIRENDA, a Zambian student who died in the Russia- Ukraine war has arrived in the country.

The plane carrying LEMEKANI’s body touched down at the KENNETH KAUNDA International Airport around 15 hours.

NYIRENDA’s remains were received by family members and Government officials.

Family Representative IAN BANDA said the office of the state forensic pathologist based at UTH will conduct the medical legal death investigations.

Dr. BANDA said the funeral and burial will only commence after the mandatory procedures are concluded.

Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Administration CHEMBO MBULA said Government mourns with the family and will provide the necessary support.

And Zambia’s Ambassador to Russia SHADRECK LUWITA, who accompanied the body said the Zambian mission in Russia is on the country to ensure that the all the information is established.
