KULAMBA CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19

By Christopher Miti-Paramount Chief KALONGA GAWA UNDI of the Chewa people has cancelled this year’s Kulamba traditional ceremony, due to the rising cases of COVID-19.

Chairperson of the Kulamba ceremony organising committee, Chief MBANGOMBE says it is not ideal to hold the ceremony under the current environment.

He has since urged people to take precautions and adhere to COVID-19 preventive guidelines.

Chief MBANGOMBE was speaking at a media briefing in Chipata, Eastern province.

And KALONGA GAWA UNDI’s spokesperson, LUCAS PHIRI said the Paramount Chief has also banned mobile markets locally known as Kabwandire in the Chewa land.
